By actively engaging with various stakeholders, the organization not only demonstrates its commitment to the development process but also emphasizes holistic development, recognizing the interconnected nature of social, economic, and environmental factors. In doing so, BJUP seeks to create a positive and lasting impact on the well-being of individuals and communities it serves.

1. Protection and Education

  • Safeguarding and Well-being: Implement comprehensive policies for child protection, emphasizing the well-being of children from marginalized communities. Conduct regular training sessions for staff, volunteers, and community members on recognizing and addressing child exploitation, abuse, and neglect.
  • Resilience Development: Promote programs focused on building resilience among children and youth from deprived communities through facilitating workshops and activities that empower children to participate in decision-making processes affecting their lives.
  • Meaningful Child Participation: Integrate a child participation approach into all aspects of programming to ensure that children's voices are heard and valued. Encourage a culture of inclusivity, respect, and dialogue to enable meaningful contributions from children in the community.
  • Mainstreaming Children in Education: Bridge efforts to enroll deprived children in governmental schools, ensuring access to quality education for all. Collaborate with government institutions to enhance the delivery of education, providing necessary infrastructure, digital platforms, teacher training, and educational materials.
  • Enhancing School Infrastructure: Our educational initiatives extend beyond traditional classroom settings through providing physical and technological infrastructure to government schools, including smart classes, digital platforms, laboratories, and libraries. Establish partnerships with local businesses and organizations to secure resources for the improvement of school facilities.

"By adopting this comprehensive approach, BJUP aims to create a protective environment for children, empower them through education, and contribute to breaking the cycle of poverty and exploitation in marginalized communities."

Through this, BJUP seeks to empower disadvantaged communities towards economic growth, and contribute to the overall well-being of individuals, families, and communities."

3. Health and Wellbeing

  • Awareness Campaigns and BCC Programme:

BJUP employs targeted awareness campaigns to disseminate essential information regarding health, hygiene, and nutrition. These campaigns utilize various channels such as community events, workshops, and media platforms to reach a wide audience. The goal is to raise consciousness and understanding about the importance of adopting healthy practices, proper hygiene, and nutritious dietary habits. BJUP implements Behavior Change Communication programs.

These programs go beyond mere information dissemination; they actively aim to influence and modify behaviors, encouraging individuals to adopt healthier lifestyles and practices. Through tailored communication strategies, such as interpersonal communication, social mobilization, and media messages, BCC programs seek to bring about positive behavioral changes within the target population with a special focus on addressing critical issues related to health, hygiene, and nutrition, particularly targeting women.

  • Capacity Building:

The capacity-building aspect of BJUP's strategy is a targeted effort to enhance the capabilities and effectiveness within key sectors of public health. This involves a multifaceted approach focused on strengthening capacities in the realms of public health, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A). In the context of HIV/AIDS, BJUP focuses on strengthening the capacity of organizations and individuals working in this sector. This could include training healthcare professionals, raising awareness among communities, and improving the overall infrastructure for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and support services. By investing in capacity building across these diverse sectors, BJUP aims to create a sustainable impact on health outcomes, ensuring that the individuals and institutions involved are well-equipped to address the evolving challenges in public health, reproductive health, and the fight against HIV/AIDS.

  • Menstrual Hygiene Practices:

The initiative extends beyond mere provision; it encompasses generating community demand for menstrual hygiene products. This involves implementing awareness programs and community engagement activities to educate individuals, particularly women, about the importance of using sanitary pads and adopting proper menstrual hygiene practices. By fostering a sense of awareness and understanding within the community, BJUP seeks to create a sustainable demand for sanitary pads, thereby promoting better menstrual hygiene practices among the target population. In essence, the comprehensive approach involves not only addressing the logistical aspects of the supply chain but also actively involving and educating the community to ensure a holistic improvement in menstrual hygiene practices.

  • Advocacy:

Advocacy in the context of health and WASH equity involves actively promoting and championing policies and practices that prioritize the well-being of all individuals, with a particular focus on marginalized populations. This entails a commitment to ensuring that decision-makers at the policy level address the specific needs and challenges faced by vulnerable and disadvantaged communities. Advocates work to bridge gaps in access to healthcare and WASH services, striving for inclusivity and fairness. By voicing concerns, raising awareness, and influencing policy changes, advocacy becomes a powerful tool in creating a more equitable and just society where everyone, regardless of their background, can enjoy optimal health and essential sanitation services.

4. Women Empowerment

  • Organizing Women from Marginalized Sections: BJUP focuses on organizing women from marginalized sections of society. This involves bringing them together and forming groups such as Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs). By creating these organized groups, the aim is to provide a platform for women to collectively address their issues and concerns.
  • Education on Rights and Entitlements: Empowering women begins with education. BJUP is committed to educating women about their rights and entitlements. This knowledge is crucial for women to assert themselves, understand their legal rights, and advocate for fair treatment.
  • Empowering Women to Speak Out: We aim to equip women with the skills and confidence to speak out against various social issues, including gender discrimination, child marriage, human trafficking, dowry, and domestic violence. By empowering women to voice their concerns, BJUP promotes them as catalysts for positive social change.
  • Skills Development and Financial Literacy: To enhance women's capabilities, BJUP provides soft skills training, financial literacy programs, vocational training, and entrepreneurship development. These initiatives aim to boost women's self-worth, improve decision-making abilities, and provide them with practical skills for economic independence.

Overall, BJUP's approach is centered around building a strong foundation for gender equity and women empowerment by addressing the root causes of challenges faced by women from marginalized backgrounds. Through education, organization, and skill development, BJUP aims to create lasting positive changes in the lives of these women and their communities.

5. Natural Resource Management

  • Natural Farming and Plantation: At BJUP, a fundamental commitment to environmental sustainability is evident through our concerted efforts in the realm of natural farming and plantation initiatives. To minimize the ecological footprint of agricultural practices, we actively implement and promote natural farming techniques that prioritize organic and ecologically friendly methods, thereby reducing reliance on synthetic inputs.
  • Diversified Irrigation Systems: In the pursuit of environmentally responsible practices, BJUP places a strong emphasis on the implementation of diversified irrigation systems. Through extensive research and innovation, we strive to develop irrigation methods that are not only effective in supporting agricultural needs but also sustainable in their impact on the environment.
  • Solar-Based Solutions: In a steadfast commitment to sustainable practices, BJUP is actively pursuing solar-based solutions to revolutionize energy consumption and reduce environmental impact.
  • Energy-Efficient Cook Stoves: In a proactive approach towards holistic sustainability, BJUP is championing the cause of energy-efficient cook stoves, recognizing their potential to bring about transformative change in local communities.
